What do you do at Heng Lim Transport, and how did you get to know Haulio?

I am an Operations Manager at Heng Lim Transport, overseeing the day-to-day activities of my drivers. Overall, I manage a fleet of about 20 drivers and trucks.

I first got to know Haulio when one of the founders, Sebastian, visited my office back in 2017. At that time, Haulio was had just started out as a platform for Inter-Terminal Trucking (ITT) jobs, which refers to the shuttling of containers within PSA’s ports. Today, Haulio has evolved to include a wider variety of jobs aside from ITT.

How has Haulio helped you?

Haulio provides us with an additional source of jobs that is especially useful during the current uncertain COVID-19 pandemic. As an asset-heavy company, this is really important for me. Even though manpower takes up 20-30% of my costs, most of it still goes to things like asset depreciation. With Haulio, I can take up ITT jobs to at least cover my drivers’ salaries.

I also appreciate Haulio’s CSR efforts in doing their part for the industry, as well as organising events for different hauliers to connect and network.

Will you continue using Haulio in the foreseeable future?

Yes, we will. I have been recommending Haulio to others, especially their new Haulio Connectivity System (HCS). It’s a gamechanger for the industry especially for newcomers who don’t want to spend so much on the initial deposit on existing solutions to manage their fleet, that are often also difficult to use. The fact that the app is available in Chinese language is also very useful for some of my drivers.
